| Assessment – | A way to check or measure something (like a test, survey, or self-check) |
| Brainstorm – | Sharing ideas freely in a group to solve a problem or come up with new ideas. |
| Client – | A person who uses the services of a business or professional. |
| Creativity – | The ability to think of and make new ideas or things. |
| Criteria – | The rules or standards used to judge or decide if something is good. |
| Constraint – | A limit or restriction, like not enough money, space, or materials. |
| Design – | A plan for making something that solves a problem or meets a need; it can also mean a drawing or a decorative pattern. |
| Design Brief – | A written plan that explains a problem to be solved, what the solution must include (criteria), and limits (constraints). |
| Design Process – | A step-by-step method to solve problems by coming up with many ideas and choosing the best one. |
| Design Statement – | A challenge that explains what the solution should do (but not how to do it). |
| Designer – | A person who creates plans, drawings, or ideas for how something should look or work. |
| Engineer – | A person who uses science and technology to solve real-world problems. |
| Engineering Notebook – | A special notebook where engineers write down all their work, ideas, and designs in order. |
| Innovation – | An improvement or upgrade to something that already exists. |
| Invention – | A brand-new product, process, or system that has never been made before. |
| Iterative – | Doing steps over and over until you get the best result. |
| Justifiable – | Something that can be explained as fair or reasonable. |
| Piling-on – | Adding new ideas that build on someone else’s idea. |
| Problem Identification – | Realizing and naming a problem that needs to be fixed. |
| Product – | Something made by people, machines, or nature that you can use or touch. |
| Prototype – | A test version or model of something to see how it works before making the final one. |
| Research – | Studying information to learn facts or make new discoveries. |
| Valid – | Something true, accurate, and backed up by evidence. |
