Empirical Evidence Includes observations, measurements, and other types of data scientists gather.
Scientific Theory A well-supported explanation about the natural world.
Model A representation of something in the natural world.
Scientific Law Describes a basic principle of nature that always occurs under certain conditions.
Experiment An organized procedure to study something under controlled conditions.
Observation The process of obtaining information by using the senses.
Hypothesis A testable idea or explanation that leads to scientific investigation.
Variable Any factor that can change in an experiment, observation, or model.
Data Information gathered by observation or experimentation that can be used in calculating or reasoning.
Model A representation of an object or a process that allows scientists to study something in greater detail.
Technology The use of tools, machines, materials, and processes to meet human needs.
Engineering The application of science and mathematics to solve real-world problems.
Prototype A test model of the product.
