what is expected in a healthcare facility professional behavior
1st Guideline of Professional Behavior Be neatly dressed and groomed. Keep your uniform and shoes clean
2nd Guideline of Professional Behavior Do not discuss personal problems or personal situations with residents. At work, conversation focuses on the resident, not the caregiver
3rd Guideline of Professional Behavior Do not use your personal phone in residents rooms or in any resident care area
4th Guideline of Professional Behavior Be on time when you are scheduled to work. Call your facility as early as possible if you are sick or cannot work (following facility policy for notification of absences)
5th Guideline of Professional Behavior Avoid unnecessary absences. When you are absent, your coworkers have more work to complete, and without adequate staff, residents care may suffer
6th Guideline of Professional Behavior Never leave your job early without permission. Report to the nurse in charge when leaving your unit for any reason
7th Guideline of Professional Behavior Do not report to work under the influence of illegal drugs and or alcohol
8th Guideline of Professional Behavior Keep a positive attitude
9th Guideline of Professional Behavior Speak politely to all people in the facility. Treat all visitors with courtesy and respect
10th Guideline of Professional Behavior Address residents, family members, and visitors as they wish to be addressed. Use their preferred pronouns. Never call someone honey , dear or sweetie

13th Guideline of Professional Behavior Do not gossip or speak badly about residents, coworkers , or bosses
