Chapter1-2 Forensic Science vocabulary

forensic- methods of science applied to public matters
postmortem examination- the major evidence that the pathologist uses to make these determinations
Odontology- a fancy name for dentistry
Criminalistics- types of physical evidence generated by crime scenes
Sting operation- situations where law enforcement agents set up a scenario whereby crinimals are encouraged to commit crimes that they would probably have done anyway
cold search- whereby people in the neighborhood are interviewed to determin if they saw the crime being commited , if they may have seen the perpeptrator flee the scene or if they observed suspicious events
