| Empirical Evidence | the information obtained through observation and documentation of certain behavior and patterns or through an experiment. |
| Theory | a supposition or a system of ideas intended to explain something, especially one based on general principles independent of the thing to be explained. |
| Law | the description of a naturally occurring phenomena in the world. |
| Experiment | a procedure carried out to support or refute a hypothesis, or determine the efficacy or likelihood of something previously untried. |
| Hypothesis | an idea or explanation for something that is based on known facts but has not yet been proved. |
| Dependent Variable | what you measure in the experiment and what is affected during the experiment |
| Observation | an act or instance of noticing or perceiving. |
| Independent Variable | the variable you manipulate, control, or vary in an experimental study to explore its effects. |
| Data | information such as facts and numbers used to analyze something or make decisions |
| Model | a three-dimensional representation of a person or thing or of a proposed structure, typically on a smaller scale than the original. |
| Engineering | the branch of science and technology concerned with the design, building, and use of engines, machines, and structures. |
| Technology | the branch of science and technology concerned with the design, building, and use of engines, machines, and structures. |
| Prototype | an early sample, model, or release of a product built to test a concept or process. |
| Trade Off | exchange something of value, especially as part of a compromise. |
| Risk Benefit Analysis | a comparison between the risks of a situation and its benefits. |
| Life cycle Analysis | the systematic analysis of the potential environmental impacts of products or services during their entire life cycle. |
| Pugh Chart | consists of a table, where the criteria are listed on the y-axis and the options are listed on the x-axis. |
