Anxiety is a feeling of uneasiness, worry, or fear in response to stress, often without a clear or immediate threat.
Bipolar disorder is a mental illness that causes extreme mood swings, including emotional highs (mania) and lows (depression).
De-escalate means to reduce the intensity of a situation or calm someone down to prevent it from getting worse.
Delusion is a fixed, false belief that is not based in reality and cannot be changed by reasoning.
Delusional Disorder is a serious mental illness where a person has one or more non-bizarre delusions for at least a month, without other symptoms of schizophrenia.
Depression is a mood disorder that causes persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and loss of interest in daily activities.
Disorder is a disturbance in physical or mental health that affects a person's normal functioning.
Dysthymia is a chronic, mild form of depression lasting for at least two years, characterized by low mood and other symptoms that are less severe than major depression.
Generalized anxiety disorder is a mental health condition characterized by excessive, uncontrollable worry about everyday things that lasts for six months or more.
Loneliness is the feeling of sadness or distress caused by being socially isolated or lacking meaningful connections with others.
Mental Health is a person’s overall emotional, psychological, and social well-being, affecting how they think, feel, and cope with life.
Mental Illness a medical condition that disrupts a person’s thinking, feeling, mood, ability to relate to others, or daily functioning.
Obsessive-compulsive disorder is a mental health condition characterized by unwanted, repeated thoughts (obsessions) and behaviors (compulsions) performed to reduce anxiety.
Panic Disorder is a mental illness marked by sudden, repeated episodes of intense fear called panic attacks, often accompanied by physical symptoms like a racing heart and shortness of breath.
Phobia is an intense, irrational fear of a specific object, situation, or activity that leads to avoidance behavior.
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition triggered by experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event, causing symptoms like flashbacks, nightmares, and severe anxiety.
Psychosis a serious mental condition where a person loses touch with reality, experiencing hallucinations, delusions, or disorganized thinking.
Psychotic disorder due to another medical condition a mental disorder where psychosis symptoms—like hallucinations or delusions—are directly caused by a physical illness or medical condition.
Psychotherapy a treatment method that uses talking and counseling to help people manage mental health issues and improve emotional well-being.
Schizoaffective Disorder a mental illness featuring symptoms of both schizophrenia (like hallucinations or delusions) and mood disorders (such as depression or mania).
Schizophrenia a chronic mental disorder characterized by distorted thinking, hallucinations, delusions, and impaired social functioning.
Social Isolation is the state of having little or no contact with others, leading to feelings of loneliness and disconnectedness.
Social Anxiety Disorder is an intense fear of social situations where a person may be judged, embarrassed, or scrutinized by others.
Substance/medication induced psychotic disorder is a condition where psychosis symptoms like hallucinations or delusions are caused by drug use, medication, or withdrawal.
