Define Invasion of Privacy Invasion of privacy is when a person's personal information or space is accessed or shared without their permission. This includes exposing a resident's body or discussing their health details without consent.
Define False Imprisonment the unlawful restraint or confinement of a person against their will without legal authority.
Define Defamation making false statements about someone that damage their reputation.
Define Diversion of Drugs the illegal use, theft, or redirection of medications intended for patient care by healthcare workers or others.

What is a vulnerable adult a person aged 18 or older who is at risk of harm or exploitation due to physical, mental, or cognitive disabilities or aging.
What 4 things should we protect Vulnerable adults from? We should protect vulnerable adults from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and abandonment
Know the signs and symptoms of these 4 conditions Signs of abuse include unexplained injuries, fearfulness, and withdrawal; neglect shows poor hygiene, malnutrition, and untreated medical issues; exploitation involves sudden financial changes or missing belongings
List the consequences to Nurse Aides found mistreating a client Nurse aides who mistreat clients can face job termination, removal from the Nurse Aide Registry, legal action, fines, and loss of certification or license.
Define Ethics, Code of Ethics, Ethics are moral principles that guide a person’s behavior. A Code of Ethics is a set of professional rules that outline expected behavior and responsibilities.
Define Resident's Right the legal and ethical guarantees that protect the dignity, privacy, and freedom of choice for people living in long-term care facilities.
What is the Ombudsman? The Ombudsman is an official who investigates and helps resolve complaints made by residents of long-term care facilities about their rights and care.
What is the Nurse Aides Role related to Ethics The nurse aide’s role related to ethics is to provide respectful, honest, and compassionate care while protecting residents’ rights and maintaining confidentiality.
Define Abandonment. What are the consequences? leaving a resident without care or support when needed, causing harm or risk. Consequences include legal action, job loss, and removal from the Nurse Aide Registry.
