| Stratified squamous epithelium | a type of tissue composed of multiple layers of flattened cells |
| Endocrine glands | specialized organs that produce and release hormones directly into the bloodstream |
| Holocrine glands | a type of exocrine gland where the entire secretory cell disintegrates to release its product |
| Connective tissue | several body tissues that connect, support, and help bind other tissues |
| Adipose tissue | a type of connective tissue that primarily functions as a storage site for excess energy in the form of triglycerides |
| osteocytes, | the most abundant type of cell found in mature bone tissue |
| osteoclast | a large multinucleate bone cell which absorbs bone tissue during growth and healing. |
