| AM Care | Morning care given to a resident or patient, including hygiene tasks like washing, toileting, dressing, and grooming to help them get ready for the day. |
| Activities of Daily Living (ADL) | Everyday tasks a person needs to do to take care of themselves, like eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, and moving around. |
| Basic Nursing Skills | Fundamental tasks nurse aides perform to help residents with daily care, such as taking vital signs, assisting with hygiene, feeding, and moving patients safely. |
| Cognition | The mental process of thinking, learning, remembering, and understanding. |
| Delegation | The process where a nurse assigns tasks to a nurse aide that are within their job description and scope of practice. |
| Grooming | Activities that help a person look neat and clean, like brushing hair, shaving, and caring for nails. |
| Health Care Personnel Registry (HCPR) | A state list of certified nurse aides and health care workers that records their certification status and any reports or investigations of abuse, neglect, or misconduct. |
| Hygiene | Practices that keep the body clean and healthy, like bathing, hand-washing, and oral care. |
| Interpersonal Skills | The ability to communicate and interact well with others, showing respect, kindness, and understanding. |
