high-pressure system a large body of circulating air with high pressure at its center and lower pressure outside of the system
low-pressure system a large body of circulating air with low pressure at its center and higher pressure outside of the system
front the boundary between two different air masses at the Earth's surface
air mass are large bodies of air that have uniform temperature, humidity, and pressure.
jet stream a fast-flowing, narrow air current in the upper atmosphere, typically found near the boundary between different air masses at higher altitudes
ocean currents a continuous, directed movement of seawater, either horizontally or vertically
