| high-pressure system | a large body of circulating air with high pressure at its center and lower pressure outside of the system |
| low-pressure system | a large body of circulating air with low pressure at its center and higher pressure outside of the system |
| front | the boundary between two different air masses at the Earth's surface |
| air mass | are large bodies of air that have uniform temperature, humidity, and pressure. |
| jet stream | a fast-flowing, narrow air current in the upper atmosphere, typically found near the boundary between different air masses at higher altitudes |
| ocean currents | a continuous, directed movement of seawater, either horizontally or vertically |
