Adaptive Immunity- Mechanism

Where are B & T cells made? Bone Marrow
What is the Main Function of B cells? To recognize antigens
Are B & T Cells both white or red blood cells? White Blood Cells
What are B & T cells apart of what? Network of cells fighting of antigens called adaptive immunity
Where are B Cells located? In lymph nodes
What do plasma cells release? Antibodies
B & T Cells originate from what cell? Hematopoietic Stem cell
What is a example of a T Cell? Helper T cell and cytotoxic T cell
Lymphatic System A network of tissues and organs that help rid the body of waste, toxins, and other cells, transports lymph's.
What is a lymph? Clear fluid that travels through the lymphatic system, carrying cells that help fight infections and diseases.
What is the spleen? An organ that filters blood, stores white blood cells and is able to help fight infections.
What is the thymus? A gland where T cells mature, located in the upper chest
What do B cell receptors bind to? Antigens
What are produced when Helper T cells bind to B cells? lymphokines are released
What do cytotoxic T cells do? Cause infected cells to preform apoptosis
What do memory T cells do? Remmbers pathogens and initiate immune response quickly
