U9 Learned Behaviors
| Term | Definition |

| Behavior | What a plant or animal does. |
| Learned Behavior | Behavior that is acquired through experience |
| Offspring | A new organism produced by two parents. |
| Inherited Trait | A characteristic that is passed from parent to offspring. |
| Inherited Physical Trait | A physical characteristic that is passed from parent to offspring. [e.g. blue eyes, curly hair] |
| Acquired Trait | Something you learn or develop after you are born. |
| Acquired Physical Trait | A physical trait that you develop. [e.g. scar, dying hair, haircut, tattoo] |
| Instinct | Behavior that you were born with and did not have to learn. Comes naturally. [e.g. baby crying, cat meowing] |
| Physical Characteristic | A feature or trait that can be seen. |
