| Biotic Factor | living things within an ecosystem |
| Abiotic Factor | non-living things within an ecosystem |
| Population | a group of individuals of the same species living in the same ecosystem |
| Community | a group of Species that are in the same factor eg biotic and abiotic |
| Ecosystem | a group of biotic and abiotic species that interact with each other |
| Limiting factors | any environmental condition or resource that restricts the growth, abundance, or distribution of a population or organism within an ecosystem |
| Producer | autotrophs |
| Consumer | heterotrophs |
| Decomposer | eats decaying organisms |
| Food chain | a series of events in an ecosystem in which organisms transfer energy by eating and being eaten. |
| Food web | The pattern of overlapping feeding relationships or food chains among the various organisms in an ecosystem |
| Energy pyramid | a diagram that shows the amount of energy that moves from one feeding level to another food web |
| Evaporation | process by which an element or compound transitions from its liquid state to its gaseous state below the temperature at which it boils |
| Condensation | is the process by which water vapor condenses into a cloud |
| Precipitation | any form of water that falls from clouds and reaches earth's surface as rain, snow, sleet, or hail |
| Herbivore | organisms that only eat plants |
| Carnivore | organisms that only eat meat |
| Omnivore | organisms that eat plants and meat |
