Week 13 SS
| 1. What is the nervous system? | Communication system that is made up of the brain and spinal cord, nerves, ganglia, and parts of the receptor organs and that receives and interprets stimuli and transmits impulses to the effector organs. |
| 2. Efferent Neurons | Nerves that carry impulses away from the brain and spinal cord to the muscles and glands. Also called motor neurons. |
| 3. Interneurons | CNS neurons that internally communicate and intervene between the sensory inputs and motor outputs. |
| 4. Neurons | Nerve cell, specialized cells designed to transmit information in the form of electrochemical signals called action potentials. |
| 5. Neuroglia | Cells that support and protect neurons. |
| 6. The peripheral Nervous system consist of? | all neural tissue outside CNS. |
| 7. Afferent division | Carries sensory information, from PNS to CNS. |
| 8. Efferent division | Carries motor command, from CNS to PNS. |
| 9. Choroid | middle, vascular layer of the eye, between the retina and the sclera and provides supply of blood. |
| 10. Fovea Centralis | Area consisting of a small depression in the retina containing cones and where the vision is most accurate. |
