What are the axial muscles of the body? The skeletal muscles are divided into axial (muscles of the trunk and head) and appendicular (muscles of the arms and legs) categories.
What are the 5 cells of the nervous system? Major cell types of the central nervous system comprise neurons, glial cells (astrocytes, oligodendrocytes, ependymal cells, and microglia), choroid plexus cells, cells related to blood vessels and coverings
What are the 7 main parts of the CNS? The central nervous system (defined as the brain and spinal cord) is usually considered to have seven basic parts: the spinal cord, the medulla, the pons, the cerebellum, the midbrain, the diencephalon, and the cerebral hemispheres
What are the 3 parts of PNS? The peripheral nervous system (PNS) refers to parts of the nervous system outside the brain and spinal cord. It includes the cranial nerves, spinal nerves and their roots and branches, peripheral nerves, and neuromuscular junctions
What is the ANS in the nervous system? The autonomic nervous system is a component of the peripheral nervous system that regulates involuntary physiologic processes including heart rate, blood pressure, respiration, digestion, and sexual arousal.
What are the 7 common senses? The 7 senses are vision, hearing, taste, smell, touch, vestibular (balance), and proprioception (body awareness).
What is an endocrine organ? An endocrine organ, or gland, is a tissue or organ that produces and releases hormones directly into the bloodstream to regulate various bodily functions, including growth, metabolism, and reproduction
What are the facial signs of heart problems? Certain facial features and skin changes can sometimes indicate an increased risk of heart problems, including xanthelasma (yellowish bumps around the eyes), a diagonal earlobe crease (Frank's sign), and cyanosis (bluish discoloration of the skin).
What is blood important for? Blood brings oxygen and nutrients to all the parts of the body so they can keep working. Blood carries carbon dioxide and other waste materials to the lungs, kidneys, and digestive system to be removed from the body.
What are the three primary functions of the lymphatic system? 1: the maintenance of fluid balance; 2 : the facilitation of the absorption of dietary fats from the gastrointestinal tract to the bloodstream for metabolism/storage; 3: the enhancement & facilitation of the immune system
What are 5 signs of a weak immune system? 1. You Have Frequent Infections. 2. Your Stress Level is Sky-High. 3. You Always Have a Cold. 4. You Have Lots of Tummy Troubles. 5. Your Wounds Are Slow to Heal.
What are the 3 types of respiratory? Three types of respiration include internal, external, and cellular respiration. External respiration is the breathing process. It involves inhalation and exhalation of gases. Internal respiration involves gas exchange between the blood and body cells
