Unit 8 Microorganism

TermDefinition
bacteria A type of organism that can break down just about any type of organic matter and is too small to see without tools.
algae Tiny, plant-like organisms that live in water. They can be different colors and make their own food using sunlight.
vaccine A medicine that helps protect you from getting sick by teaching your body how to fight germs.
virus A tiny germ that can make you sick and it spreads from person to person. It needs a microscope to be seen.
bacteria A type of organism that can break down just about any type of organic matter and is too small to see without tools.
microorganism A living thing that is too small to see without a microscope.
beneficial Helpful or advantageous
harmful can cause hurt or damage
