orthopnea | people who can breath better sitting upright |
orthstatic hypotension | low blood pressure associated w/weakness or fainting and rises to a erect position |
pulse | throbbing sensation can be palpated over the peripheal artery or auscultated over the apex of the heart |
pulse deficit | difference between radial and apical pulse |
pulse pressure | difference between the systolic and diastolic pressure |
pulse amplitude | quality of the pulse in terms of fullness and reflects the strength of left ventricular contraction |
respiration | movement of air in and out the lungs |
expiration | breathing air out the lungs |
inspiration | breathing air into the lungs |
tachycardia | rapid pulse rate |
tachypnea | increased breathing rate |
temperature | heat of the body measured in degrees |
vital signs | persons T,BP,P,R |
dysrhythmia | irregular pulse pattern |
