Octagon (n) A figure with eight straight sides and eight angles.
Octave (n) A group of eight, such as eight lines or eight musical notes.
Octane (n) A colorless flammable substance (C8H18) found in petroleum and used as a fuel and solvent. It has 8 carbon atoms.

Decimal (adj) Relating to or denoting a system of numbers and arithmetic based on the number ten, tenth parts, and powers of ten.
Decimate (v) To kill, destroy, or remove a large percentage or part of; historical- to kill one in every ten of a group of soldiers or others as a punishment for the whole group.
Decameter (n) A metric unit of length, equal to 10 meters.
Decagon (n) A plane figure with ten straight sides and angles.
Decibel (n) A unit used to measure the intensity of a sound or the power level of an electrical signal by comparing it with a given level on a logarithmic scale.
Cent Latin- “Hundred”
Century (n) A period of one hundred years.
Centigrade (adj) Relating to the temperature scale in which the boiling point of water is at 100 degrees and the freezing point of water is at 0 degrees.
Centurion (n) An officer in the ancient Roman army, which originally had one hundred men.
Centimeter (n) A metric unit of length equal to one hundredth of a meter.
Percent (n) One part in every hundred.
Centenary (n) The hundredth anniversary of a significant event; a centennial.
