| soliloquy | (n) an act of speaking one’s thoughts aloud when by oneself or regardless of any hearers, especially by a character in a play. |
| solitary | (adj) done or existing alone. |
| solo | (n) a piece of music written to be performed by one voice or one instrument; an action in which there is only one performer. |
| solitaire | (n) any of various car games played by one person, that object of which is to use up all one’s cards by forming particular arrangements alone or apart from others. |
| isolate | (v) to cause a person or place to be or remain alone or apart from others. |
