Atmosphere The relativity thin layer of gases that form Earths outermost layer
Air Pressure A huge body of air that has similar tempature, humidity, and air pressure at any given height
altitude Elevation above sea level
wind The horizantal movement of air from an area of high pressure to an area of lower pressure
water cycle The continual movement of water among earths atmosphere, oceans, and land surface through evaporation, condesation, and percipitaion.
evaporation The proccess by which molucules at the surface of a liquid absorb enough energy to change to gas
Condensation The change in state from a gas to a liquid
dew point The tempeture at which condensation starts
humidity The amount of water vapor in a given volume of air
Relative humidity The percentage of water vapor in the air compared to the minimum amount of water vapor that air can contain at a particuar tempeture
Precipitation Any form of water that falls from clouds aand reaches earths surface as rain, sleet, or hail
Air mass A huge body of air that has similar tempetures, humidity, and pressure at any given height
Jet stream A band of high speed units about 10km above earths surface
Front The boundry unlike air masses meet, but do not mix
Cyclone A swirling center of low air pressure
Anticylone A high pressure center of dry air
