transverse waves waves in which the vibration is side to side or up and down

wavelength the distance from one peak to another
reflect to bounce energy off an object
amplitude the height of a wave
pitch the highness or lowness of a sound
medium the matter through which a sound wave travels
longitudinal waves waves in which the vibration travels forward and backward
electromagnetic radiation a form of wave energy that has both electrical and magnetic properties
frequency the number of wave peaks that pass a given point every second
concave lens a lens that causes light to spread
peak the highest point of a wave
