Independent variable The thing you/scientist changes. "The cause" "what I change"
Control variable The thing that stays the same in the experiment
Dependent variable What you are trying to measure. The data collected "effect" "what I observe"
Hypothesis An educated guess. A possible explanation that is tested with an experiment.
