vocabulary note cards for science test

QuestionAnswer
What is physical science? the study of matter and energy.
What is the scientific method? a solution that contains all the solute it can hold at a given temperature.
What is technology? the application of knowledge, tools, and material to solve problems and accomplish tasks; technology can also refer to the objects used to accomplish tasks.
What is a hypothesis? is a possible explanation or answer to a question.
What is data? any pieces of information acquired through experimentation.
What is theory? a unifying explanation for a broad range of hypothesis and observations that have been supported by testing.
What is law? a summary of many experimental results and observation of an object or system
What is a model? a representation of an object or system.
What is a meter? the basic unit of length in the S.I system.
What is volume? the amount of space that something occupies or the amount of space something contains.
What is mass? the amount of matter that something is made of.
What is temperature? a measure of how hot or cold something is; specifically , a measure of the average kinetic energy of the particles in an object.
What is area? the measure of how much surface an object has.
What is density? the amount of matter in a given space mass per/ unit volume.
