Hierarchy an arrangement or classification of things according to relative importance or inclusiveness
Cells the smallest unit that can live on its own and that makes up all living organisms and the tissues of the body
Tissues a group of similar cells that work together to perform a specific function within an organism
Organs a group of tissues that work together to perform a specific function in the body
Organ Systems a group of organs that work together to perform a specific function in the body
Organisms any living thing, like a plant, animal, bacteria, or fungus, that can function on its own and carry out life processes like growth, reproduction, and metabolism
Nerve Cells type of cell that receives and sends messages from the body to the brain and back to the body
Nervous Tissue a specialized tissue found in the brain, spinal cord, and nerves, responsible for receiving and transmitting electrical signals throughout the body, allowing for communication and control of bodily functions
Brain the central organ of the nervous system, that controls bodily functions
Nervous Systems a complex network of cells, tissues, and organs that controls and coordinates all bodily functions
Xylem Cells cells that make a tissue of higher plants that carries water and dissolved materials upward, functions also in support and storage,
Vascular Tissue a specialized plant tissue that acts like a "plumbing system" by transporting water and nutrients throughout the plan
Stem The organ of a plant that provides support and holds it upright
Shoot System the part of a plant that grows above ground, including the stem, leaves, flowers, and fruits, responsible for photosynthesis and capturing sunlight to produce food for the plan
