What are the levels of structural organization in the human body? Chemical, cellular, tissue, organ, organ system, and organism.
What are the different types of joints in the human body? Fibrous, cartilaginous, and synovial joints.
What is the function of ribosomes? Protein Synthesis
What are the four types of tissues in the human body? Epithelial, connective, muscle, and nervous tissue.
What are the three types of muscle tissue? Skeletal (voluntary), cardiac (heart, involuntary), smooth (walls of organs, involuntary)
What neurotransmitter is released at the neuromuscular junction to stimulate muscle contraction? Acetylcholine (ACh).
What are the three main parts of a neuron? Cell body, dendrites, axon.
What is the function of the cochlea in the ear? Converts sound vibrations into nerve impulses.
Which cranial nerve is responsible for vision? The optic nerve (Cranial Nerve II).
What is the function of insulin? Lowers blood glucose levels by facilitating glucose uptake into cells.
What are the three main types of blood cells? Red blood cells (RBCs), white blood cells (WBCs), and platelets.
What are the four chambers of the heart? Right atrium, right ventricle, left atrium, left ventricle.
What is the function of arteries and veins? Arteries carry blood away from the heart; veins carry blood to the heart.
