Accute Illness Rapid onset of symptoms and lasts only a relatively short time
Chronic Illness many different physical and mental alterations in health with slow onset and many periods of remission and exacerbation
Disease Pathologic change in the structure or fuction of the body or mind
Exacerbation Reappearance of symptoms
Health State of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, not mearly the absense of disease or infirmity
Illness Response of a person to a disease
Remission Disease is present but symptoms are not experienced
Risk Factor Something that increases a person's chances for illness or injury
Wellness Active state, orieneted towards maximizing the potential of the individual regardless of the state of health
