| carnivore | an animal that eats other animals |
| consumer | an animal that eats (consumes) other living things for food |
| organism | any living thing, such as a plant, animal, or bacterium |
| herbivore | an animal that only eats plants |
| omnivore | an animal that eats both animals and plants |
| model | something that represents another thing, but is smaller, so that we can understand it better; examples: diagram, computer simulation |
