Standard an exact amount, people agree to use for comparison
S.I. the system all scientists use for measurement based on the metric system
Mass the amount of matter in an object; this is not affected by gravity, so stays the same no matter where measured
Weight a measure of gravity force on an object; can change depending on where measured
Volume the amount of space an object occupies
Displacement the change in water level after an object is put into it; used to find volume of an odd-shaped object
Meniscus a curve in the water level in a glass graduated cylinder
Temperature a measure of the amount of heat in an object
Absolute Zero lowest possible temperature
Density a measure of the amount of matter that occupies a particular space;how heavy something is for it's size
