| Tropism | A plant’s growth response toward or away from a stimulus |
| Hormone | A chemical that effects how the plant grows and develops |
| Photoperidism | A plant’s response to seasonal changes in the length of day and night |
| Critical night length | The number of hours of darkness that determines weather a plant will flower or not |
| Dormancy | A period of time when an organism’s growth stops or pauses |
| 3 stimuli that produce plant responses | Touch, gravity, and light |
| An example of positive and negative tropism | Negative: when the plant grows away from the stimulus Positive: when the plant grows toward the stimulus |
| What triggers a plant to flower | The amount of darkness around the plant |
