| Hormone | A chemical that affects growth and development. |
| Photoperiodism | A plants response to seasonal changes in the length of night and day. |
| Critical night length | The number of hours of darkness that determines whether or not a plant will flower. |
| Dormancy | A period of time when an organisms growth or activity stops. |
| Tell the three stimuli that produce plant responses. | Touch, gravity, and light |
| Give an example of positive and negative tropism. | If a plant grows toward the stimulus it is a positive tropism. If a plant grows away from the stimulus it shows negative tropism. |
| Tell what triggers a plant to flower. | The amount of darkness a plant receives determines the time of flowering in many plants. |
