Organism A living thing
Habitat An environment that provides all the things an organism needs to live, grow, and reproduce.
Biotic Factor A living or once living part of an organisms habitat.
Abiotic factor A non-living part of an organisms habitat
Population All the members of ONE SPECIES living in an area
Community All the living things in a particular area
Ecosytems All the living and non-living things in an area
limiting factor A factor that causes a population to decrease in size
Producer (Plants) an organism that produces its own food through photosytheses
Consumer An organism that must consume (eat other organisms for food)
Decomposer Break down waste / dead material and return nutrients to an ecosytem (Bacterea / Fungus)
Food Chain A simple chain of events that illistrates how energy is transfered by eating and being eaten
Food Web Shows relationships between overlapping food chains in an ecosytem
Energy Pyramid Shows the amount of energy available at each feeding level
Evaporation Liquid-Gas
Condensation Gas-Liquid
Precipitation Water falling from the sky in the form of rain, sleet, hail. etc.
Cycles Water, Carbon and Oxygen, Nitrogen
