QuestionAnswer
Tropism The response of a plant toward or away from a stimulus.
Hormone 1.A chemical that affects the growth and development.2. The chemical product of an endocrine gland.
photoperiodism A plant's response to seasonal changes in the length of day and light.
Critical nigh length The number of hours of darkness that determines whether or not a plant will flower.
Dormancy A period of time when an organism's growth or activity stops.
Three stimuli that produce plant responses They respond to touch, light, and gravity.
Examples of positive and negative tropism Positive tropism: Phototropism, when the stems are growing toward the sun light. Negative tropism: Gravitropism, is when the stems grow away from the force of gravity.
What triggers a plant to a flower The amount of darkness a plant recieves determines the time of flowering in many plants.
