Thermosphere highest layer of the atmosphere - extends into space
terrestrial coordinates Earth's system of latitude and longitude
Axis Imaginary line that passes through Earth's north and south poles
Latitude Angular distance north or south of the equator (drawn as parallel lines)
Longitude Angular distance east and west (lines drawn up and down)
Prime Meridian Reference line from which longitude is measured
Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) The basis of standard time throughout the world: based on measurements of the sun taken in Greenwich England
