Classifying plants

Tropism the response of a plant toward or away from a stimulus
hormone a chemical that affects growth and development.
photoperiodism A plants response to seasonal changes in the night and day
critical night length A number of hours of darkness that determines whether or not a plant will flower
dormancy A period of time when an organism’s growth or activity stops
