Stomata Small opening on the under side of a leaf through which oxygen, water, and carbon dioxide can move
Transpiration The process by which water is lost through a plant’s leaves
Embryo The young organism that develops from a zygote
Germination The sprouting of the embryo out of a seed; occurs when the embryo resumes its growth following dormancy
Flower The reproductive structure of an angiosperm
Pollination The transfer of pollen from male reproductive structures to female reproductive structures in plants
What are the 3 funtions of roots? Roots anchor a plants to the ground,absorb water and minerals,and store food
What are the 2 functions of stems? The stem supports the plant in staying up, and carry substances between the plant's root and leaves
What are the functions of leaves? Leaves capture the sun's energy and make it into photosynthesis
What are the 3 basic parts of a seed? Embryo, stored food, and seed coat
What are 3 ways seeds can be dispersed? Animals, fur or clothing, and through water
How to label the structures of a flower? You have to label,sepals,petals,stamens, and pistils.
What does each part of the flower do? Sepal-protect developing flower;Petals-colorful parts of flowers; Stamens-male reproductive parts;Pistils-female reproductive parts
