Introduction to Earth Science

theory a well-tested explanation for a wide range of observations or experimental results
scientific law a statement that describes what scientists expect to happen every time under a particular set of conditions
astronomy the branch of science that includes the study of stars
observing using one or more of you r senses to gather information
inferring when you explain or interpret the things you observe
destructive force a force that slowly wears a way mountains and other features on the surface of Earth
meteorologists scientists who study weather and climate
technology how people change the world around them to meet their needs or to solve practical problems
engineer a person who is trained to use both technology and scientific knowledge to solve practical problems
