Clay Tiny particles of rocks
Decomposition The breaking down of dead plant and animal material
Earthquake Shaking of the Earth that is caused by the release of energy stored in the outermost layer of the Earth (crust)
Landslide A large amount of rock, soil, trees, and other Earth materials that moves down a steep slope
Rapid Changes A change that happens quickly
Sand Small, loose pieces of rock
Soil A mixture made of pieces of rock, decayed plant and animal matter, water, and air
Volcanic Eruption When magma, ash, or hot gases are released from a volcano
Weathering The process of breaking down rocks into smaller pieces
