TermDefinition
Renewable Resource Natural resources that are replaceable within a person's lifetime
Conservation prevention of wasteful use of resources
Disposal Throwing away or getting rid of products that are no longer needed
Environmental Impact A condition that results in a change to a biotic or abiotic factors of a system
Natural Resource Anything found in nature that can be used by humans
Nonrenewable Resource Natural resources that cannot naturally replenish themselves within a person's lifetime
Recycle The process of taking materials that are ready to be thrown away and converting (changing) them int reusable materials
Coal A black or brown rock that is found inside Earth and burned as fuel
Oil Also called petroleum, is a liquid that is found beneath Earth's surface
Natural Gas A mixture of gases found below Earth's surface that is used as fuel
Porous Rock that has many small spaces or holes in it
Permeable Has many connected pores, allows liquid or gases to pass through
Impermeable Rocks that do not allow liquid or gases to pass through them
Aquifer A layer of rock that is permeable to water
