Ever-Changing Moon
The 4-week lunar cycle in which the moon goes through different cycles
| Term | Definition |

| Lunar Cycle | The four-week period during which the Moon orbits Earth one time and goes through all of its phases. |
| Illuminate | To light up. |
| Quantitative | Information that can be counted or measured or given a numerical value. |
| Qualitative | Information that is not represented by numbers but by characteristics or descriptions. |
| Gibbous Moon | Any phase of the moon that has more than half of its face illuminated. |
| Waxing | When the face of the Moon looks larger each day. |
| Waning | When the face of the Moon looks smaller each day. |
| Revolution | One full orbit around an object. |
| Rotation | One spin of a planet on its axis. |
| Shadow | A dark area produces by an object coming between light and surface. |
| Orbit | A regular, repeating path that one object takes around another object or center of gravity. |
| Axis | An invisible line going North/South through the Earth. |
| Seasons | Caused by the way the sunlight hits the Earth according to the Earth's axis. |
| Maria (plural) | Large dark gray areas that are smooth on the surface of the Moon. |
| Lunar Eclipse | An eclipse in which the moon appears darkened as it passes into the earth's shadow. |
