| Nonvascular plant | A low growing plant that lacks true vascular tissue |
| Rhizoid | Thin rootlike structures that anchor the moss and obsorb water and nutrients |
| Vascular plant | Plants with true vascular tissue. |
| Phloem | Is the vascular tissue through which food moves |
| Xylem | A tissue of higher plants that carries water and dissolved materials upward |
| Fond | The leave of a fern plant |
| Polen | Tiny structures that contain the cells that will later become sperm cells |
| Seed | A structure that contains a young plant inside a protective covering |
| Gymnosperm | A seed plant produces naked seeds. The seeds are referred to “naked” because they are not enclosed by a protective fruit |
