| aster | a small, daisy like plant with a star shaped flower |
| asterisk | a star-shaped character (*) used in printing, often to mark something important or as a place to add an additional note |
| asteroid | a large, irregularly shaped object made of rock and metal that orbits our Sun or another star |
| astrodome | a transparent dome on top of an airplane where the navigator can make celestial observations |
| astrolabe | an ancient instrument used for estimating the altitude and predicting the position of celestial objects, such as the moon, other planets, and stars |
| astronaut | a person trained to travel in a spacecraft |
| astronomer | a scientist who studies the objects in the sky, including planets, galaxies, black holes, and stars |
| astronomical | inconceivably large or costly; of or relating to astronomy |
| astronomy | the branch of physics that studies celestial bodies and the universe |
| astrophysics | the branch of astronomy concerned with the physical and chemical properties of celestial bodies |
