Condensation The process by which a gas changes into a liquid due to cooling
Evaporation The process by which a liquid changes into a gas due to the addition of heat
Matter Anything that has mass and takes up space
Gas A state of matter in which the molecules are very spread apart; has neither a definite shape or volume (ex. Water vapor)
Liquid A state of matter in which the molecules are somewhat close together; has a definite volume but no definite shape (ex. Milk)
Solid A state of matter in which the molecules are tightly packed together in an organized manner; has a definite shape and volume (ex. Ice)
