tsunamis powerful ocean waves that can flood coastal areas; often caused by EARTHQUAKES
tornado a rapidly spinning column of air extending from a storm cloud to the ground
seismometer detects vibrations in the ground, to monitor earthquake activity.
tiltmeter monitors changes in a volcano's shape that are related to pressure changes inside a volcano.
Ring of Fire Area surrounding the Pacific Ocean where earthquakes, volcanoes and tsunamis can occur.
