Imphatic, Endocrine, Urinary Systems
| Term | Definition |

| Lymphatic System | Removes excess fluid from your body's tissues and returns it to the bloodstream. |
| Gland | A group of cells that prepare and release a chemical for use by the body. |
| Lymphocytes | White blood cells found in the lymph system. |
| B-cells | Lymphocytes that produce antibodies that attack specific disease-causing microorganisms. |
| T-cells | Lymphocytes that attack microorganisms directly. |
| Vaccine | A weakened or inactive version of a pathogen that stimulates the body's production of antibodies that can destroy the pathogen. |
| Urinary System | Controls the amount of water you retain, as well as the levels of the many substances in that water. |
| Renal artery | Brings blood into the kidney. |
| Renal vein | Takes blood back to the heart from the kidney. |
| Renal pelvis | Area through which excess water and chemicals that were not reabsorbed into the blood flow out of the kidney. |
| Bladder | Where urine is held. |
| Urethra | Where urine leaves the body. |
| Hormone | A chemical messenger released into the bloodstream that sends signals to distant cells, causing them to change their behavior in specific ways. |
| Hypothalamus | One of the main regulators of the endocrine system. It controls the pituitary gland. |
| Pituitary gland | Referred to as the "master endocrine gland" because the hormones that it makes and sends into the bloodstream control many other endocrine glands. |
| Thyroid gland | Primarily affects the basal metabolic rate |
| Parathyroid gland | Regulates the level of calcium in the body. |
| Thymus gland | Releases a hormone which stimulates the development of the white blood cells (T-cells). |
| Adrenal gland | Produces coritsol, which causes the liver to release more glucose so that there is plenty of energy available to the body. |
| Pancreas | Produces insulin that enables glucose to enter the cells so that it can be burned. |
