QuestionAnswer
Science The process of learning about the natural world by asking questions & trying to find the answers to those questions.
Quantitative Observation a scientific observation that uses numbers (amounts), measurements, or comparisons.
Qualitative Observation a scientific observation that is made using only the senses
Independent variable the factor you wish to test, and that you manipulate, so you can identify its effects
Dependent variable the factor you measure during the experiment to gather data
Constants all of the factors, or variables, you keep the same on all the groups you are comparing
Geo- prefix meaning 'the earth'
Direction the line, or path along which something is moving, pointing or aiming
Speed measure of how fast something moves a particular distance over a given amount of time
Motion occurs when there is a change in position of an object with respect to a reference starting point
