Basic Parts of life cells
Cell Membrane The function is it maintains homeostasis by controlling what enters and leaves the cell
Cytoplasm The function is it suspends the organelles and provides and environment for a chemical reaction within the cell
Cytoskeleton The function is to provide structure for the cell and movement of organelles
Nucleus The function is stores genetic information (DNA)
Rough Endoplasmic The function is makes and transports proteins
Smooth Endoplasmic The function is to make lipids and membranes
Golgi Bodies The function is to modify, sort, and ships proteins
Mitochondria The function is to create energy from food
Vacuole The function is to store food, water, or waste within the cell
Lysosomes The function is uses enzymes to digest bacteria, viruses, and old organelles
Centrosome The function is to create special structures called spindle fibers that are used in cell division
Cell Wall The function is to provide shape, structure, and protection for the cell
Chloroplast The function is to site photosynthesis
Central Vacuole The function is to store water in order to maintain plant shape
