TermDefinition
Cell wall A rigid layer that surrounds the cell. It helps protect and support the cell.
cell membrane A thin, flexible barrier they surrounds a cell and controls which substances pass into and out of a cell.
cytoplasm Gel-like fluid fills most of cells moves nutrients, proteins, and organelles within cell.
nucleus Directs all cell activity
ribosomes Produce proteins needed by cell.
active transport cellular energy is used to move substances
passive transport transport that doesn't require energy for the cell
