| homogeneous mixture | made of 2 or more substances that are so evenly mixed you cannot see the different parts (their atoms have not chemically bonded) |
| physical change | changes the form or appearance of matter but does not turn any substance in the matter into a new substance; the original substance remains |
| chemical change | a change in matter that produces one or more new substances; the original substance is gone |
| Law of Conservation of Mass | states that matter is not created or destroyed in a chemical or physical change |
| weight | a measure of the force of gravity acting on an object |
| heterogeneous mixture | made of 2 or more substances mixed together but you can see the different parts |
