| Hypoxia | decrease in oxygen |
| anoxia | complete lack of oxygen |
| Trachea | the tube that connects your mouth and nose to your lungs. You can also call it the windpipe. It is in the front of your neck, and is very hard with tough rings around it. Feel the front of your neck. |
| Alveoli | tiny sacs within our lungs that allow oxygen and carbon dioxide to move between the lungs and bloodstream |
| Epiglottis | a flap of cartilage at the root of the tongue, which is depressed during swallowing to cover the opening of the windpipe. |
| Arteries | Carries blood AWAY from the heart |
| Veins | Carries blood TOO the heart |
| Arotic valve | one of the two semilunar valves of the heart, the other being the pulmonary valve. |
