| Diffusion | The movement of molecules from areas of high concentration to areas of lower concentration |
| Osmosis | The diffusion of water across a cell membrane |
| Equilibrium | Condition in which molecules of a substance are evenly distributed throughout the space |
| Passive Transport | Movement of materials across a cell membrane without the use of energy |
| Active Transport | Movement of materials across a cell membrane with the use of energy |
| Endocytosis | A process by which cells carry a large body, such as a large protein molecule across a cell membrane into the cytoplasm |
| Metabolism | All chemical activities of an organism that allow you to live, grow, and reproduce |
| Producer | An organism, such as green plants, which makes it;s own food through photosynthesis |
| Consumers | Organisms that can not make their own food |
| Fermentation | A form of respiration that converts energy from glucose when the oxygen supply is not enough; yeasts and some bacteria use fermentation to release energy and carbon dioxide |
| Aerobic Respiration | Creating energy in the presence of oxygen |
| Anaerobic Respiration | Creating energy without the presence of oxygen |
| Exocytosis | A process by which a cell moves out large molecules through the cell membrane |
